Rotsler's Rule
By: Black Cab
Melbourne band Black Cab is Andrew Coates and James Lee. Formed in 2004, Black Cab’s sound has ranged from driving electronica to psychedelic kraut rock, often drawing inspiration from Europe and America in the 1970′s and ’80′s. Their sixth album "Rotsler's Rules" came out back in May 22 and is dedicated to noted sci-fi author and illustrator, early pornographer and seminal LA cosplayer, William ‘Bill’ Rotsler. The title track 'Rotsler's Rules' has them up for a "Music Victoria Award" for Best Song, with winners announced on Tuesday 13th December. This album is full of dance floor bangers and makes for a great album if you are up for a dance. Think electronica with a killer rhythm section. Such a sophisticated sound, and proudly Melbourne.
Their live shows are slick and killer with a mesmerising full vision and light show. They play Colour Club this Thursday night.Special guests on the album include Graeme Pogson (MPC programming, drums), Ev Tweedie (bass), Steve Law (sequences on Superheroes), Lucy Buckeridge (backing vocals on Hanna), Wes Holland (vibes and live drums).
